jackpot [Sep. 9th, 2011|10:17 am]
The Mom of the family I babysit for gave me a $1500 Gucci handbag that she didn't want anymore. It's brand new and goooooorgeous... she just said it was a tad too big for her to carry.

This must be what it feels like to work for Miranda Priestley.

For the record, YES! Jake Gyllenhaal is just as gorgeous up close and personal as he is on the big screen. Maybe even more gorgeous.

I just don't understand how one person can be so flawlessly perfect with extra perfection on the side. UH-MAZING. Can I just be her, please?

Can't even fathom what is happening in Japan right now. It's probably just my mind running away with me, but I still keep thinking that it's going to be California's turn again sometime soon. I mean, it HAS been 17 years since the huge Northridge quake that I still remember as clear as day. Scary.

On a more pleasant note, it was a bittersweet night last night. My friends and I hosted a going away party for a close friend who decided to up-and-leave her California life for an open ended tour of Australia. She quit her job here, purchased a one-way ticket to the land Down Under, and is only taking one single backpack with her. Basically she's just ~winging it~ solo.
I almost envy her being able to just take a huge risk like that. It must feel so freeing.

We'll miss you, Sarah!

Last hoorah photo-op

ETA: forgot to add the best part of the night! pole dancing lessons haha

I must admit it's a little bit jarring seeing your ex-boyfriend's face plastered on practically everything for promotions of a new TV series. Yes, he was getting work when we dated, but now it's girls think they've discovered "something new" and suddenly start going gaga. It's weird. Just plain weird.

Went to a taping of "Conan" yesterday!! So much fun. That man can have my cheeks hurting from laughter in about 5 seconds flat. Yesterday it was Seth Green, Tim Meadows, and musical guest Broken Bells. Overall, it's a really fun time and I definitely recommend going if you ever have the chance to win tickets.

There's a no cell phone/camera rule which suckkkks because I was dying for a photo of Conando and the set. Everything on the set was super tiny compared to how it looks on TV. The camera really DOES make everything appear larger..

Writer's Block: Cause or symptom? [Nov. 16th, 2010|11:38 am]

Do you believe that violence in media promotes violence in real life? Does media reflect cultural values or can it actively reshape them?

"So, OK, the Attorney General says there is too much violence on T.V. and that should stop. But even if you took out all the violent shows, you could still see the news. So, until mankind is peaceful enough not to have violence on the news, there's no point in taking it out of shows that need it for entertainment value. Thank you."

Writer's Block: Celebrity Overload [Aug. 5th, 2010|07:13 pm]

Which celebrity are you sick of seeing? Who would you like to see more of?

Sick to death of Megan Fox, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Beiber. All three of them are extremely overrated and I feel like I can't go one day without being completely bombarded with the mention of their names. Make the madness stop!

I would LOVE to hear more about
1) Marion Cotillard - I first really started to pay attention to her after I saw Public Enemies. She has this light and glow about her that I just can't tear my gaze away from. Such a classic beauty and talent.
2) Cillian Murphy - Vastly underated if you ask me. People write him off and make comments that he looks "creepy", but I really have to disagree. He is gorgeous and in a very brooding and gentle way.
3) Rachel McAdams - No need for a description. She's perfect. Period.

Close encounters of the crazy kind.. [Aug. 2nd, 2010|11:30 pm]
Had a run-in with Britney Spears at Starbucks today.
I was stopping in for a coffee right before work and I was the only one in there when she and her bodyguard came in and she stood next to me while I ordered instead of behind me and started singing to herself. She gave me a smile but it was a little awkward. lol They took forever so I had to wait next to her until I got my drink... then I walked outside to 30 flashing lights.  I then had to go tell my boss why it took so long to get a coffee.

She looked pretty good (good compared to how she's looked lately), but still seemed a bit looney.
